Kaye Elamparo, NP

Kaye has been working with Dr. Yoo since 2011, assisting him with seeing patients and during surgery. She holds a Master’s of Science as a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, both from San Diego State University. She has lived in San Diego since the age of four and her mother, who was a nurse as well, would bring her to work to socialize with the elderly patients at the facility where she worked.

This is where Kaye developed her passion for nursing and helping others, so after graduating from Poway High School, made her decision to pursue nursing at San Diego State. She began her career as a nurse on the Medical Oncology Unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla; after one year Kaye decided to transition to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she was responsible for caring for critically ill patients. This is where she found her niche. Kaye’s roles in the ICU included being a Charge Nurse and a Code Nurse for the hospital. Shortly after, through the encouragement from her family, she returned to graduate school.
